Explore How Horses Can Help Heal

One-on-One Equine Therapy

Come interact with our horses and our equine therapist to experience the healing power of horses.

  • One or two hour session

  • Our therapist will work with the individual and the horse in collaboration

Original Log Cabin

"Where the Past Is Just a Moment Away"

  • Two-story, double pen, dog trot log building, with rear two-story ell

  • It is on its original location

  • In c. 1710, the French increased the development of their territory along the Mississippi River, which it claimed as part of France’s explorations in the 17th century

  • The French surveyed the land surrounding the Mississippi River bluffs north of St. Louis

  • In 1737, France completed a survey north of current Elsberry, MO--a portion of it was, “The Robert Carter Tract”

  • In 1762, France ceded lands west of the Mississippi River to Spain

  • In 1800, the land was ceded back to France

  • In 1803, Napoleon sold the land to the United States (Louisiana Purchase) and “The Robert Carter Tract” was part of it

  • In c. 1819, on a portion of the original 1737 “Robert Carter Tract,” Settler’s Trace was built
